It was a very exciting and nerve racking day! It all started with a good warm up and then straight onto our first routes. My first route was graded 7a+ I flashed it which put me into joint first for the second route. My second route was graded 7b and I got to the last move! I went into the finals in joint 2nd place =] Our last route was 7c!! It was really hard. I fell of about a third the way up =[ Over all I came 4th and got selected to compete for Britain in the European youth championships at the E.I.C.A Ratho in September! I'm soooo exited and can't wait!!!!!

Scottish Boulder Championships!
On The 8th of February the first ever Scottish boulder championships were hosted at Extreme Dream! It was A brilliant day consisting of 15 qualifier routes (done in any order), a semi and a final. As always Scott Muir added an interesting twist to the competition by adding some swinging boards on the roof and other walls. Poor Jessica (scotland south) had to pull out of the comp due to finger injurys.

Aquadome Boulder Comp!
On Friday the 31st most of the north crew headed down to the aquadome for a friendly boulder comp. There were two category a savage category and a placid category. We all decided to test ourself in the savage category even after being warned by Ruairidh Macenzie that it was named appropriately. After me, Ellen B and Jade fell of the easyest route we decided to swap categorys to placid. I completed all the problems and got full marks and Jade and Ellen B only dropped a few points. i came overall 1st place joint with Jades younger sister Dawn Longworth. In the end i think i should of stayed in the severe category but overall it was an exellent avent and im looking forward to round 2.
A big thanks to Ruairidh Macenzie and his team =]

Scottish Team Training!
On the 1st of February most of the Scottish team went to Extreme Dream for a training session with Scott Muir. We Started of the day with a Scott Muir style warm-up, he took us all to loch Morloch for a bit of sand training. This included dragging a large branch along the sand. After our warm-up we went back to extreme dream to do some training. We did some specific footwork, and some endurance. We then did some floor training which included crunches, push ups and various stretches. The next day i think everyone felt the effects of the training but it definitely helped me improve my footwork and strength!
Thanks Scott for a good session !

British Team Trials
I was so exited about the team trials because i had been climbing and training really hard for them. They were held in Ratho this year an were held over two days. On the first day it was the qualifier and the semis. To get into the semis you had to come in the top 8, i qualified 6th so i got into the semis. I was really happy and wasn't expecting to get to the finals. But i did! I qualified to go to the finals in 5th. I was soooo exited about the finals i wasn't nervous because i never thought that i would do that well, but i did it again as my mum says, i manage to claw my way up to finishing in 3rd place behind Shona Coxsey and Suzie Zitter who are both AMAZING climbers. I was even more surprised when my name got read out for making it to the Aspirants team. I think so far it was the best moment in my climbing EVER!
The Adventure Show!!!
Out of the blue we got a phone call asking us if we would like to do a piece on how me an Ruairidh got our mum and dad into climbing because it's usually the other way around. So of course we said yes! On the 17th of August we headed to Golspie to meet the Adventure Show team in a local cafe, we then headed to Creag Bheag to do some filming. When we arrived at the crag we were asked to pick a route, they then set up all their equipment. There was only one problem the weather! It was constantly raining, so we improvised by sitting under a overhang to get interviewed but we still got soaked through so they couldn't use the interviews. We went back a week or so later and managed to get some good footage of us climbing. When we watched ourselves on TV in September it was really funny and strange seeing and hearing ourselves. Overall it was a great experience an i hope we might get to do something like that again in the future =]
